The Challenge

The Challenge

Premium UK fashion brand REISS is a global authority on design-led womenswear, menswear, and accessories.

But with a bespoke, highly customised website, REISS knew that in order to achieve sustainable online growth, and unlock superior customer experiences, it needed to evolve its online shop and legacy technologies.

The leading fashion brand wanted to ensure its online shop was accessible to all potential customers alike, whilst paving the way for an ambitious omnichannel strategy that unifies the online-offline experience.

What we did

What we did

Our ongoing partnership with REISS began with our teams embedding themselves within the business to gain an in-depth understanding of the retailer's processes and technical systems.

Over the following three years, we've become the retailer's lead engineering arm, advising and helping REISS to re-architect and update its core technology stack to unlock flexibility, address technical debt, and create a scalable and sustainable platform for the future.

Together we've undertaken a programme of continuous improvement to continually enhance the online experience and help the retailer achieve sustainable online growth.

Key programmes of work included:

  • Decoupling components from the core platform to create a more scalable and flexible architecture for the future

  • Implementing the Worldpay payment gateway to ensure effective management of payments and fraud whilst aligning in-store payment with online and creating the opportunity to add additional payment methods in the future

  • Implementing the OneMarket e-receipt product, allowing customers to receive email receipts, and passing store purchase information onto the website

  • Implementing Google Analytics 360 and upskilling Trading and Marketing teams in web analytics for actionable insight

  • Unifying the online-offline experience at the REISS Duty Free store at Heathrow Airport

  • Improving and optimising the CMS

  • Implementing a new sizing guide

  • 24/7/365 critical application support

  • Digital operations development, including recommendations on technology procurement and operational efficiencies.

  • Integrating marketing software Emarsys to gain a deeper understanding of online customer behaviours.

As we help the retailer to prioritise and implement its digital roadmap, key initiatives going forward include:

  • Helping to bridge offline and online through the incremental implementation of an omnichannel strategy

  • Ongoing SEO improvements

  • Ongoing speed and performance optimisation

  • Implementation of web accessibility initiatives to achieve AA compliance, including definition of accessibility guidelines, web development, and accessibility training for design, content, and developer teams
